What Browser Uses The Least Resources?

What Browser Uses The Least Resources?

This is fairly common question that many computer users are asking.  Believe it or not, the browsers are all very good at what resources they need. In many instances, the real problem is not the browser but the computer it is running on.

If your computer has up to date hardware, usually the real issue is spyware or malware and some simple software maintenance.

You may be having problems with your browser hogging resources because of malware. Most of the browsers you choose will work more efficiently once your computer is clear of internet trash.

I suggest you use one of the free ones that are available like Spybot  and do a thorough scan.  (Remember to update the definitions)

Then update your Anti-Virus program and run that one too (I prefer AVAST, free home version).

Another overlooked area that will speed up any internet browser is cleaning out the temp files and temporary internet files. A good program for this is  CC Cleaner, also free.

Finally, defrag your hard drive.

Once you have done these maintenance tasks, your computer will run like new and your choice of internet browser will be very speedy.

A tech shop will charge you big bucks to “tune up” your computer and then charge you for software…ending with a bill for maintenance you could do yourself.  So, give it a try and if you are not successful, then call your local tech shop for help.

Recommended Programs: SpybotAvast,   CCleaner

These are the programs I use and will do my maintenace about once a week.  Takes a few hours but the computer is a lot happier and so am I!

Finally: There is an excellent browser comparison study “Chrome and Firefox 3.5 Memory Usage” done by Dot Net Perls.com that compares Chrome, Firefox, Opera and Safari.  Easy to understand and quite informative.

What is a registry cleaner program? Most of those who experience problems with their computers are advised to get a registry cleaner program. It is a type of software which helps remove all unwanted files and items from your PC. If you’re having trouble with a sluggish computer or experiencing occasional computer crashes, all you may really need is a good registry cleaner. To help solve your computer nightmare, get a registry program as soon as you can and follow the steps below.

The first step to using a registry cleaner is to have a backup point, just in case something goes awry. This is an option that is available with most registry cleaner programs so just make sure you don’t miss this step. While you don’t expect to run into any problem when using a registry cleaner, having a backup is always advisable. In addition, you might want to do some research first before deciding on a registry program so you can be sure you get a good one and have everything you need.

After creating the backup point, the next step is actually using the registry program. The process is all automated so once you get it running, you don’t have to do anything else. As it works through your computer system, what the registry cleaner really does is removing all the unnecessary files that are found there. These are usually files associated with deleted programs, like for instance how a previously used program connected with your video card, sound card, or with the internet. These files are left behind long after the program is deleted and bogs down the PC.

The benefits to running scheduled cleans are numerous. First, your computer will load faster initially. The registry loads on startup so keeping it clean means your computer has less to sift through when it boots up. You will likely experience a quicker operation while running many programs as your computer won’t have to try to make sense of a scrambled registry. You may also experience fewer crashes as your computer will be less prone to make false connections between programs. But, just like having a kid, your registry will not stay clean for long. Make sure you run your registry often. If your computer starts to slow down, don’t hesitate to run the registry cleaner again.

While you may still be apprehensive about getting a registry cleaner, you need to know that it really is an essential tool for keeping a computer healthy. Just as anti-virus software makes sure your files are not infected, a registry cleaner makes sure they are all organized properly. You wouldn’t go onto the internet without anti-virus software and you really shouldn’t operate your computer without a reliable registry cleaner program.
